Hong Kong was attacked by Typhoon Saola recently, causing trees to fall and scaffoldings to collapse. At times like this, many of us will find a shelter or stay indoors to protect ourselves, but not a couple who took the opportunity for a photoshoot.

In a clip shared on the Facebook group 車cam L(香港群組), a couple is seen taking pictures under the rain. The video shows a long-haired woman in shorts and vest posing on the road despite the wind and rain. She kneels on the ground with her hands wide open as if welcoming the rain.

The man, on the other hand, tried his best to get the very best shots under the rain by squatting on the side of the road before he ran to the middle for the photoshoot. We don’t know how the outcome turned out to be but it was definitely an A+ for effort!

Neither of them held an umbrella!

Many drivers who passed by witnessed the scene from their cars. A man is heard asking,

“Is this an influencer filming?” ,

A woman is then heard responding,

“There is a typhoon now. We’re rushing home and I don’t even know what are they up to.”

Does this remind you of those emotional music videos where the antagonists cry and sing under the rain?

Hong Kong netizens were not amused by the viral clip, and they definitely had their own ways of describing what they had to see in the baffling clip.

“They couldn’t shower at home, so might as well wash their clothes there.”

“A girlfriend like this will shorten your life span for years.”

“When the thunder strikes, the effect is even more amazing.”

“These people have no boundaries. They couldn’t get any crazier than this! Do they really think it was an art, or were they pretentious?”

You can watch the clip below.

With social media dominating the internet today, it’s understandable that some youth may try to make everything Instagram-able, but certainly not to the extent where it endangers your life.
