When will it ever end? It looks like yet another Malaysian has found himself in hot soup for possessing material showing child exploitation on his mobile phone. How disgusting!

According to a report by The Star, the Australian Border Force (ABF) said in a statement on Saturday (July 14) that they had stopped the 38-year-old man at the Melbourne airport on Tuesday (July 10) for baggage examination. Shortly after that, they discovered the horrific “child exploitation” material on his mobile device which consisted of two videos and 20 photos. As for what they meant by child exploitation, we can only assume the worst.

After sitting through an interview, the man’s electronic device was confiscated, his visa was cancelled and he was transferred to Maribyrnong Immigration Detention Centre and is now pending his removal from Australia. How embarrassing that Malaysia seems to be producing such vile individuals!

Craig Palmer, the ABF regional commander for Victoria has warned other people not to bring in such sickening material into Australia. It was reported that every week, the authorities catch at least four international travellers who try to smuggle similar material into Australia.

“Visitors to Australia engaging in this behaviour should expect to be caught and to forfeit their right to be here,” said Commander Palmer in a statement on Saturday. “The ABF is committed to detecting and investigating anyone involved in importing this material, ensuring we are protecting the Australian community,” he added.

Meanwhile, ABF regional commander for New South Wales Danielle Yannopoulos said, “Child exploitation is a global issue, and is not limited to any nationality. Recently, we’ve detected passengers from Malaysia, Sierra Leone, China and India.”

She added that this problem was also prevalent in Australians as they have caught them arriving and departing the country with child exploitation material. If an individual is found guilty of importing or exporting child exploitation material in Australia, the maximum penalty is a fine of up to AUD$180,000 (RM541,431) and/or imprisonment for 10 years.

Just this March, another Malaysian was arrested and charged by Australian authorities for possessing hundreds of child porn images and videos! These were all said to be found on his laptop and mobile phone. In addition, just a few days ago on July 11, a Malaysian man was also caught at Perth airport for having “abhorrent material” in his mobile phone.

Six months ago we were ranked among the highest in South East Asia for the most online child porn users as well.

This growing trend of certain Malaysian individuals with terrible and depraved obsessions with children has got to stop. Come on Malaysians! Let’s do better for our children.
