Federal Territories Minister Tan Sri Annuar Musa, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Datuk Mohd Rashid Hasnon and Bachok Member of Parliament Nik Mohamad Abduh have explained that they are in fact negative of Covid-19. Umno president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, on the other hand, is still Covid-19 positive and is undergoing quarantine at his home.

Sources close to him told Bernama that Zahid Hamidi is infected with Covid-19 category one and is asymptomatic.  Annuar Musa told Bernama that he is healthy and Nik Mohamad Abduh only commented “Alhamdullilah, negative,” when contacted.

Nik Mohamad Abduh also explained that the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Datuk Mohd Rashid also has not been in close contact with any Covid-19 positive individuals. Previously, several news outlets have reported that Annuar Musa and Nik Abduh as being among 35 individuals that was found to be Covid-19 positive from mandatory health screening conducted by Parliament. The reports have since been denied by both individuals.

The Covid-19 screening was conducted as a security measure ahead of the Special Meeting of the House of Representatives which begins tomorrow.
