It’s no surprise technicians are recently very occupied due to high demand for aircond installations following the heatwave. Unfortunately, while fulfilling 1 of the family’s needs for comfort in KL, a technician took advantage by increasing the fixed price; but not before he did something worse.

A Malaysian, Faiz Arwin recently shared an experience with an aircond technician via his Facebook post and said the price was initially fixed at RM430.

Faiz spent most of the time in the living hall while all 3 technicians installed the aircond in his room. He trusted them 100% to install the aircond without his supervision. When Faiz wanted to pay them, here’s when things started to go wrong.

The price was now RM580 on 2 grounds – longer wiring and building a new point.

Without questioning further, Faiz agreed to the new price. He went into his room because he needed an extra RM30 but to his surprise, his money was gone.

Faiz knew it was their handiwork and said,

“They took RM750 from the drawer in my room. They also raided my wardrobe. They tried not to leave any trace, but I knew it was them.”

“We didn’t take it, but I’ll replace your lost money”

He kept his calm and requested the men to return his money, to which they initially denied taking the money. Faiz then said,

“I withdrew RM1,300 today. I know how much I have left, and I still have the receipt.”

1 of the technicians then agreed to “replace” the money for Faiz, and said, “We’ll replace it for you, although we didn’t steal”. The technicians left but the story did not end there.

On the same night (May 13), Faiz received an apology text from the technicians’ boss, who told him that 1 of the men had admitted to stealing his money. The employer also said that he had taken action against the technicians who stole from Faiz.

“I’ve always taken care of my customers. This new staff joined just a week ago, and now he’s creating problems,” the employer added.

Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, Faiz said that he initially wanted to bring the matter to the police but changed his mind after they begged him not to do so.

“I couldn’t help but to think of his family who relied on him to survive. My money was returned, although he initially denied stealing.”

Faiz also told WORLD OF BUZZ that he’s circulating this matter on social media in hopes to remind the public to be careful when doing business with other parties.

Assalamualaikum dan selamat sejahtera. Di sini saya ingin menulis sedikit perkongsian berkenaan ujian kecil yang menimpa…

The technician was lucky that he was spared from possibly going to prison, and we hope that this experience will serve as a lesson to him.
