Intimacy between couples is common but not when it leads to indecent behaviour in public.

Just yesterday, PDRM in Seri Alam, Johor Bahru arrested a couple for behaving indecently in a car at a parking space. The arrest was made following the circulation of a video on social media, which shows a shirtless man behaving indecently with his partner in a white Myvi. According to a police statement released last night (24 May), the incident took place in Pasir Gudang, Johor around 11 am on 21st May.

Back in April, another couple was arrested for public indecent behavior, which coincidentally happened in Pasir Gudang too. This was the 2nd couple who were arrested for public indecent behavior at the same place this year. The arrested man is 29 years old, and has a record of past offenses, while the woman is only 19 years old.

Both of them are currently being remanded under Section 117 KPJ for 4 days until 27th May, and the matter is being investigated under Section 377D Penal Code. If found guilty, the couple may face a jail time of 2 years.

In the meantime, PDRM also confiscated a white Myvi and reminded the public not to engage in any behavior that is against the norm of life.

The video was initially uploaded to the Facebook group “Komuniti Sciencetex Pasir Gudang”, but has since been removed.

Similarly to the first case in April, the couple, which consists of an underage girl were also arrested by PDRM after the video of their indecent behavior was recorded and circulated on social media. Days after their arrest, the couple was released on bail by PDRM.

Intimacy may bring the romance alive at times, but not when you’re doing it publicly which may eventually end with it being a police matter.
