Being snack-y people who can never leave our mouths empty, we tend to need something to nibble on in between meals, and this new pastry and dessert place in Bukit Jalil is hitting the right spot for us.

Having opened their doors in October 2023, Bake by MEL has since proven that they are clearly not afraid to take whisks (Get it? Like risks??) when it comes to their flavours.

We at WORLD OF BUZZ recently had the opportunity to try out a variety of Bake by MEL’s signature dishes, and it’s safe to say that we were left stuffed but wishing we had space for more!

Among our favourites that truly stood out were their Big Breakfast, the Chicken Masala Tacro, the Cajun Prawn Tacro, the Spicy Chicken Burger as well as the Wasabi Cubesant.

The Big Breakfast was so healthy and hearty it made us wish we could have it every day! The hash browns served with the meal came in the form of tater tots, which was a pleasant surprise as they were crunchy and not too heavy.

Their Chicken Masala Tacro, Cajun Prawn Tacro and Spicy Chicken Burger were so full of flavour and went so well with the puff pastry and the different textures.

But the ultimate highlight was the Wasabi Cubesant. For those who do not like wasabi, you have to try this!

The wasabi wasn’t overpowering and paired wonderfully with the strawberry preserve that was tucked away beautifully inside a cube-shaped croissant. Absolute puff-fection.

Bake by MEL’s dessert items are to die for

If you’re looking to indulge in unique desserts that will blow your mind, look no further than the Pure de Vanille and the 100% Chocolate Origin. The Pure de Vanille was so scrumptious that we had to have a second one!

But wait, there’s more!

Bake by MEL closes at 6 pm, but immediately after, the outlet is taken over by Last Affair, where Bake by MEL serves plated desserts fit for Michelin Star status.

These delectable sweet treats made us feel like we were at a fine dining affair, and we loved it! We highly recommend the Black Forest and the Green Matcha.

These plates were so gorgeously whimsical that we felt bad digging our spoons in. But, once we did, we could not put our spoons down thanks to the complex blend of sweet, bitter and earthy flavours in each bite.

You can find Bake By MEL at 20, Jalan 17/155c, Bukit Jalil, 57000 Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur. They are open from 10am to 6pm, in which the outlet will then be taken over by Last Affair until their closing time at 12am.

You can check them out here!

Be right back, we’re going to go get more of that Wasabi Cubesant.
