A Malaysian woman recently shared her nightmarish experience working at a nursery in Kota Bharu, Kelantan which left many netizens appalled and angry.

Posted on a Facebook group for vacancies in Kelantan, the woman shared the various alleged mistreatments she faced while working at the nursery, including a meagre RM600 monthly salary and being forced to pay the daycare’s utility bills.

The post has since gone viral with over 5,200 shares and more than 4,400 comments as of the time of writing.

In the post, the woman asserted that after working for only 2 weeks at the nursery, she was forced by the employer to pay for electricity and water bills TWICE.

Furthermore, her employer also only gave her a salary of RM600, way lower than the required minimum wage of RM1,500 in our country. According to the woman, the employer justified the meagre salary with her still being a new employee.

Seemingly having enough of the workplace, the woman then tendered her resignation but it was rejected by the employer because she allegedly signed a 4-month contract; something that the woman denied.

The woman asserted that she didn’t sign any forms or agree to any 4-month contract during the interview. Despite that, the employer threatened to sue her should she resign.

Furthermore, the employer didn’t allow her to go back home and blocked her sibling’s phone number.

The woman’s mother then came to confront the employer and bring her daughter back home. However, the employer ran and refused to meet with the mother.

When the woman finally left the nursery, the employer called her to demand she pays the utility bills for the second time and for all the food she ate while working there.

At the end of the post, the woman said that she will never forgive the employer and urged others out there to be careful when searching for a job. She stressed,

“For all of you out there looking for a job… Be careful… Don’t end up like me and regret the employment… May God protect us all from the cruelty of humans.”
