Recently, Transport Minister Anthony Loke Siew Fook shared that the FF registration number series has broken the highest collection record in Malaysian history.

Sold for a total value of RM34.3 million, among the most expensive registration numbers from the series are the following:

  • FF9 – RM911,999
  • FF3 – RM639,000
  • FF2 – RM638,000
  • FF7 – 633,000

In relation to the above, there has been a viral photo circulating on social media recently in regard to one of the plate numbers, specifically the third most expensive FF series, the FF2 registration number.

Many netizens and pages shared the photo on social media, including this Malaysian Twitter user, which depicts a grey Perodua Bezza at an undisclosed location brandishing the FF2 plate registration.

Of course, this came as a shock to many Malaysians, as the RM638,000-worth plate number is allegedly being used on a car that’s a fraction of the price, as the top-specced Perodua Bezza with official body kit is priced at just above RM50,000.

While it is not uncommon for a plate number to be more expensive than the vehicle, especially by owners that simply want to keep the valuable plate registration in their possession, the fact that it’s a new plate number raises netizens’ suspicions.

After carefully observing the photo, some netizens found many things amiss about the license plate, most notably its slightly off-centre placement. Unnatural artefacts can also be seen on the plate registration, possibly as a result of being altered.

Well, one netizen claimed that the photo of the Perodua Bezza is in fact altered because he has seen the car before near Aman Central in Kedah.

In a reply to the aforementioned tweet, the man said that the original plate number is actually “KFF2”, which would explain the slightly off-centre placement.

So, what do you guys think of the viral photo? Would you purchase a plate number that’s more expensive than your vehicle? Share your thoughts with us in the comments.
