To everyone using the Ampang/Sri Petaling LRT line to get to and from work, this is important for you.

6 LRT stations along that line will cease operations temporarily from April 2 (Sunday).

Rapid KL took to their Facebook page to inform of the suspension in services while also sharing on their alternative transport services for commuters.

They wrote, “LRT service operations at 6 LRT stations on the Ampang/Sri Petaling line involving stations Bandaraya, Sultan Ismail, PWTC, Titiwangsa, Sentul and Sentul Timur will be discontinued from April 2, 2023. This is because the train used for the service between the Bandaraya station to the Sentul Timur station can no longer meet the operating criteria that has been set and has to be removed from service for safety reasons.”

“This is a follow-up to the incident of structural and track damage near the Bandaraya LRT station which has caused trains to be unable to return to the LRT Depot in Ampang to undergo maintenance work since January 27, 2023 (Friday).”

In order to meet the needs and facilitate the commute of affected passengers, Rapid Rail will provide free LRT 13 and LRT 14 Express Bus services starting this Sunday (April 2) in addition to the existing LRT 11 Bus services.

“In order to facilitate travel, all these bus services will use special bus routes that have been prepared.”

For those who may not want to take the buses, they have also encouraged you to use alternative train options.

“Passengers are also advised to use an alternative rail route where passengers who want to go to Hang Tuah, an take the Monorail Line via the Titiwangsa station. While passengers who want to go to Chan Sow Lin, can take the Putrajaya MRT Line via the Titiwangsa station.”

“Passengers are also encouraged to use the PULSE application to plan their journey and follow Rapid KL’s social media pages to get the latest information,” they added.

Auxiliary police and Rapid KL staff members will be present at the stations involved to help guide the movement of passengers.
