Celebrities are often associated with making big bucks and living a lavish lifestyle. However, we can hardly deny that times are tough and unfortunately, celebrities are not spared from financial burden too.
Radhi Razali, the lead singer for the local band OAG was pushed to his limit when he had no choice but to seek help from loan sharks as last resort. OAG had its 30th anniversary concert last year at Stadium Melawati, Shah Alam, and in order to make that happen, Radhi borrowed a sum of RM50,000 from loan sharks. The decision to seek help from loan sharks was made out of desperation when the stage for OAG’s concert was not ready hours before the show due to budget issues.
Deep down, Radhi knew it wasn’t the brightest idea but desperate times call for desperate measures. On the same day, one of the loan sharks came down all the way from Penang with RM50,000 cash. With the cash at hand, the group managed to build the set and settled other affairs for the concert.
They were close to calling off the concert as they were running out of time, but they decided to proceed for the fans.
“Without that cash, nothing would have happened that night,” Radhi told the media recently at a FINAS event.
What about ticket sales?Â
Radhi revealed that due to lack of time, most of the tickets were given away for free to the fans.
“Many thought the tickets were sold out, but truthfully, we gave it away.”

Not long after the concert, the drummer of OAG decided to leave the group, which, according to Radhi, was done peacefully.
“There was no issue between us. It was just some personal stuff that happened before the concert. In fact, we just met a few days back.”
The concert was held on December 25, 2022.
