An 18-year-old Crohn’s disease patient was admitted in a hospital after her stoma had become infected with bacteria.

Despite this, she eagerly insisted on taking her SPM examinations in the hospital despite her parents’ advise to take the exams next year instead.

According to One Hope Charity & Welfare, the student needed RM56,400 for medical expenses but thankfully, the general public has since donated the amount and she now has enough to fund her medications for the next year.

The SPM candidate, Nur Eiffa Hazeeqa and her family are grateful to the public for their kindness in contributions that helped them raise enough money for her medications.

While she had aspired to be a doctor, she has ultimately decided to reconsider the direction of her further education and development after she was assigned to the liberal arts classes at school. Her parents are also encouraging her to continue studying language courses after her SPM examinations and will assist her in pursuing her choices.

Her mother is only concerned that, when her daughter goes to work, ordinary companies may not allow her to take frequent medical leaves to go to the hospital for follow-up visits and treatment and has also advised her to consider opening an online store.

To help with caring for her daughter, the mother is currently selling cakes and other food items online.

One Hope Charity & Welfare also extended their heartfelt thank yous to those who have selflessly donated to Nur Eiffa Hazeeqa, who never gave up on her studies and life, and gave her the opportunity to move forward towards her future.

What do you think of the SPM candidate’s efforts to take the exams while admitted in the hospital? Do feel free to share your thoughts in the comment section.
