Since Billie Eilish’s concert at the National Stadium Bukit Jalil, some preachers and politicians have taken the opportunity to voice out against the necessity of organising concerts in Malaysia.

Also addressed were the potential outcomes that could lead to social problems. Another lawmaker has indicated his intention to decide the future of the scheduled concerts in Malaysia today (August 25). PAS Youth chief Ahmad Fadhli Shaari has called on the government to cancel any and all upcoming concerts in Malaysia.

“It is not consistent with the values and standards of Muslim living in Malaysia.”

Ahmad Fadhli argued that the concerts promote hedonism and requested that the government and other ministers take into account cancelling and rescinding the permission for these concerts to be staged.

‘Do it, or we’ll do it’

The PAS Youth Chief made it plain that if the government or the ministers do not take any action, his team and he will.

“If this demand is not heeded, we won’t think twice about organising resistance across the nation.”

Then Ahmad asked the NGOs and the people who are worried about this issue to unite in order to stop the culture of hedonism from permeating society.

At the end of his Facebook post, he said that should there be brothers and sisters who oppose the protests, one should pray for them to be rightly guided.

More preachers and politicians are making it clear that they do not want the concert ‘culture’ to survive in Malaysia. Do you think protests will successfully put an end to concerts in Malaysia?
