The Kuala Lumpur High Court has ordered a 75-year-old man to pay a fine of RM20,000 per day until he complies with a court order to divide marital properties worth RM60 million with his ex-wife following their separation.

According to a report by China Press, the court found the man had violated the post-trial order and subsequent orders after a contempt of court suit brought by his 73-year-old ex-wife, and gave the man 30 days to comply or face imprisonment.

The marriage ended due to the man’s affair with a 38-year-old woman

In November 2024, the court ruled that the ex-wife was entitled to half of their marital assets valued at approximately RM60 million. When the order wasn’t enforced, the court issued a follow-up order in February 2025.

The court also ordered a 38-year-old woman, who was a co-defendant in the case, to pay RM200,000 in damages to the ex-wife for breaking up the 50-year-long marriage.

While the man denied being unfaithful and claimed that he suffered from erectile dysfunction, the ex-wife alleged that he admitted to having an extramarital affair, which prompted her to file for judicial separation, requesting alimony and half of the value of all property acquired during their marriage.

The judge also acknowledged the ex-wife’s sacrifices in supporting the man’s career and business since their marriage in 1977.
