Following disgraced former Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s imprisonment in a 12-year sentence (and a RM210 million fine) after the Federal Court upheld his conviction of embezzling RM42 million in funds belonging to SRC International Sdn Bhd, he once again headed to court this morning (August 25).

This time, Najib is at the KL Court for the 1MBD trial, just after 2 days of being in the Kajang Prison.

Bernama TV took to their Facebook page to showcase Najib leaving the prison to attend the trial but netizens are not too happy about how he is being transported.

Suv 5

Bernama TV wrote, “Former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak was taken in a black SUV from Kajang Prison to the KL Court at 8.27am to attend the 1MBD trial.”

Malaysians took to the post to question, why an SUV? Shouldn’t he, as a prisoner, be transported with a prison van or truck (also known as the Black Maria)?

Suv 1

“Why are they not transporting him in the Black Maria? Malaysiaku is so weird.”

Suv 2

“Take la the normal lorry that transports prisoners.”

Suv 3

“Do all prisoners get to take the SUV? Or just the ones who stole billions get to be transported in an SUV?”

Suv 4

“Is he handcuffed? Is he wearing prison clothes?”

Considering the fact that the Malaysian Prison Department has shared that the former Prime Minister isn’t getting special treatment in jail, it appears that he might still have his privileges.

You can check out the video of Najib leaving the Kajang Prison here:
