Malaysia has lost another gem in the entertainment industry when it was announced last Saturday (June 18) that performer and English teacher, Adibah Noor had passed away.

Over the weekend, Malaysians grieved over the departure of the veteran singer who has graced many Malaysians’ childhoods, where the multitalented performer was seen on the screens and radio. However, despite the outpouring of support for the work that she has done, a Malaysian netizen cast a less-than-stellar opinion on the late performer’s attire before her demise.

This netizen was caught criticising Adibah for not covering her ‘aurat’ despite knowing that she was living on borrowed time.

“You know it’s compulsory to cover you aurat but you didn’t do so. You shall be answerable for that in the afterlife.”

He then added,

“I hope no one in my generation will be like this.”

His comments were spotted on Harian Metro‘s Facebook post which had also reported the news of her early demise.

Self-reflection is of the utmost importance

It did not take long for his comment to gain the attention of fellow Malaysians who did not sit well with what he had to say about the late Adibah Noor.

Most of them have said that it is wiser to reflect on ourselves as we may not know how many sins we carry ourselves.

“It’s better to reflect on our sins than the others. When we think that we’re better than others, that’s when something is wrong. Only God knows where we stand.”

“Don’t ever think that we’re better than others, we don’t even know how we’re going to die. Don’t try to find the mistakes of others and instead, pray for them.”

“Not the right time and place to talk about “aurat,” opined another.

“Covering the aurat or not, it’s between her and God. May God bless her soul.”

“He got his facts right, but everything shall be left to God as He is the most forgiving.”

“Even if you cover your aurat and pray 5 times a day, it’s pointless if you don’t mind your words. We don’t even know what’s our eventual fate so it’s best to just focus on ourselves.”

Adibah Noor’s departure is definitely a huge loss to Malaysia’s local entertainment industry. Our condolences and prayers go to the family and she will always be remembered for her contributions!
