Multimedia and Communications Deputy Minister Zahidi Zainul Abidin has tested positive for Covid-19.  He received the results of his swab test today (12 January) morning.

Astro Awani reported that he has been brought to Hospital Sungai Buloh for further treatment according to guidelines highlighted by the Ministry of Health. This is the minister’s second time getting swab tested, the first time was on 25 December 2020 and the results came back negative.

The minister is reportedly in a stable condition and apologised for any inconvenience he has caused. Zahidi is the latest minister to test positive for Covid-19 after three cabinet ministers, Rina Harun, Mustapa Mohamed and Hamzah Zainuddin, all tested positive this month.
