The Japanese culture is ripe with ideas that are unique and intriguing. With a sort of ‘duty’ to provide the highest standard of customer service, it is no wonder that Japan is leaving its footprints in many areas, among them their infamous vending machines.

Reported in Soranews24, DyDo, a Japanese beverage company introduced a new system that aims to keep your hand clean with a machine operated fully using your foot.

Gone are the days where you have to worry about pushing germ-infested buttons and risk Covid-19 transfer. Now it is all done from the safety of your own feet covered with thick shoes and a sock to match.

The design which is said to be effective and simple, works the way a hand-operated machine would operate, with the three-tiered corresponding buttons situated at the bottom of the machine instead of the sides.

Now the design is not only limited to the buttons you press but also has a feature where you would retrieve your drink via a foot pedal that allows you to open a plastic door and reach for your drink without having to touch anything with your hands.

An answer to the dwindling sales due to the fear of people contaminating their hands during the pandemic, the design will really put that fear in the back seat.

Genius, right?

Still at a conceptual stage, Dydo is set to make some changes to the design once it is approved for production.

Bring it to Malaysia too ok?
