Often times, we find ourselves asking if humanity still exists in this world. Well, after reading this story, we’re pretty convinced it does exist after all!

Recently, a Filipino man shared a story of how he received help and compassion from a 13-year-old Malaysian boy.

Ady Sacol, from the Philippines, shared his wonderful experience via Facebook intending to show that nice people still do exist.

Sean and Ady met at Phuket International Airport when Ady was in unbearable pain after his motorbike accident hours before his flight. Sean, 13, who was on his way home because his grandfather had passed away, first met Ady when he sat beside him at their boarding gate. Seeing that Ady was badly injured, Sean then asked, “Are you hungry, tell me what food you want to eat?”

Ady reached out for his wallet but Sean insisted on paying for his food. After that, they had their boarding gate change and Sean still remained beside him throughout that time. Not only that, he also brought Ady’s 15kg backpack from gate 4 to 14, which is almost a 15-minute walk.

Ady referred to Sean as a Good Samaritan that came to his help when he needed it most.

Sean then accompanied Ady on a special vehicle used to transport disabled passengers to the aircraft. Sadly, when they arrived at KLIA2, there was no wheelchair available so Sean, with Ady’s 15kg backpack, proceeded to lift and carry him until the airport buggy arrived.

Unfortunately, the buggy was only available for Ady on the third floor, hence Ady still needed to use the lift to go down the second floor but there was no wheelchair or buggy available there either. So, Sean took a cart, told Ady to sit on it and pushed him till they reached immigration. Such a helpful boy!

Since Foreign and Malaysian Passport Holders have a different line for Immigration and they have to take separate ways, Ady said his ‘thank you’ and expressed his gratitude thinking this was the end. However, after they had passed immigration, Ady went outside to find Sean waiting for him with a cold juice. Sean proceeded to unload his luggage from the carousel and pushed the cart for Ady.

Sean never left his side until Ady asked him to since Sean’s driver had arrived. In fact, Sean still insisted to let his driver help Ady but Ady declined as he had received some help.

Ady thanked Sean again in his Facebook post by referring to Sean as an angel and that he is a treasure to his friends and family. He also asked Sean to keep the Philippine Money he gave him, as he wrote something on it, as a simple remembrance of their short but memorable time together.

Ady said that Sean had booked a permanent spot in his memory.

Besides that, Ady also pondered and said that this journey has definitely opened up a reality that he has ignored in his past life.

“It has become apparent to me just how important connections are and how utterly important it is to keep expanding your connections. What sometimes may seem like a chance encounter can lead to so much more. That is if you’re open to the possibility that there is more to the world than just your own bubble,” he wrote.

He further commented that we, adults, tend to think that our world is complete with our small circle of friends, but the truth is we fear to explore the larger world.

“It’s just the opposite, I tell you. As your connections expand the world becomes smaller and far less scary and much less daunting. The more I travel, the more I meet new people, the more my world expands,” he explained.

Word!

Hopefully this inspires other Malaysians to be as kind and generous as Sean. As for Sean, we’re so proud of you!
