A 6-year-old boy was found dead inside a washing machine at a house in Kampung Sungai Tapah Tambahan in Ipoh, Perak yesterday (16 October).
In a statement by the Ipoh District Police, his grandmother found the deceased unconscious at around 9.30am and was then rushed to the hospital by ambulance.
The boy was pronounced dead at around 11.02am with an autopsy revealing the cause of death to be a blunt trauma to the head.
The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) then received a report from the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital Ipoh regarding the death at around 11.44am.
Based on preliminary investigations, the incident happened when the victim was with his family at a lot house in Kampung Sungai Tapah Tambahan.
The Ipoh District Police Chief Yahaya bin Hassan announced that the case is currently being investigated under Section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act 2001.
He also advised and reminded the public, especially parents and guardians to not let children under their care be unsupervised to avoid any untoward tragedies from occurring.
