As reported by BERNAMA, the man pleaded guilty to stealing Baju Melayu of Pasha brand belonging to Haute & Gold Trendshop at the concourse level of Avenue K shopping centre between 1pm and 7pm on 9 and 10 April 2023.

The court heard that the accused went to the booth area at the scene of the incident and took 3 sets of Baju Melayu and put them in a plastic bag. He then fled without making any payment.

Arrested

He then sold them, with the proceeds used to buy food and drugs. The next day, the accused once again went to the booth and stole two sets of Baju Melayu, selling them again.

The next day, he AGAIN went to the booth and tried to steal Baju Melayu, but was arrested before being handed over to the police for further action.

The Magistrate court ordered the man to serve the prison sentence starting from the date of his arrest. He will have to serve another month in jail if he fails to pay the RM6,000 fine.
