Many of us dream of buying our own house at a young age but how many of us can actually afford to buy one? Sad but true! Well, this young Japanese woman actually managed to do it as she bought three houses before the age of 34 and is already retired!
According to ET Today, the woman had a dream of buying three houses before she was 34 years old when she was just 18 years old and so, she started planning in order to make her dream come true. She had first appeared on a Japanese TV show when she was 27 years old for her legendary money-saving skills and she told them about her dream.
Apparently, she scrimped and saved so much that she already had her own apartment that cost 10 million yen (RM395,984) at the age of 27. She shared her money-saving tips, which are rather extreme as she only spent about 153 yen (RM6) per day for her food expenses for the past 16 years.
She managed to achieve this by eating really simple and cheap meals that she would cook for herself and would only buy ingredients that were discounted heavily. For her breakfast, she would eat a slice of bread with a little bit of butter, then for lunch, she would fry some salmon to eat with rich and for dinner, she would make udon noodles with discounted vegetables she got from the market. Her dinner was so cheap that it only cost about RM1!
And if that wasn’t enough, she said that she would save water by eating from the pot and would never buy new clothes, instead, she would take other people’s unwanted clothes. That’s not all though, she would not spend money on new furniture but would get them for free from people throwing them away.
She added that she was not satisfied with owning only one house so she managed to buy her second house worth 18 million yen (RM713,076) when she was 29 years old. Later, she bought her third house worth 27 million yen (RM1.069 million) at age 34 which was also when she decided to retire.
Now, she just sits back and collects rental every month from her tenants, amounting to 30,000 yen (RM1,188). She also converted one of her properties into a cat cafe where she would help stray cats as well as this was also part of her dream. She said that she is perfectly happy this way and loves her life the way it is.
Wow, that’s really amazing! What do you think of this issue?
