Police have arrested a 21-year-old local man believed to have killed his aunt at a home in Taman Puteri Lindungan Bulan, Pasir Puteh.

District police chief Assistant Commissioner, Abang Zainal Abidin Abang Ahmad, said police received information from the public, who had discovered an unconscious 54-year-old woman locked in a room of the house at 8.31am on November 10.

The body was found in a decomposed state

In a statement, Zainal revealed that police also arrested the man, who is the nephew of the deceased, to further assist with the investigation.

He added that the suspect tested negative for drugs and has no prior criminal record. An initial examination of the 54-year-old victim at the scene found the body in a decomposed state.

Following this, the deceased was sent to the Forensic Unit of Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun here for an autopsy to determine the cause of death.

He confined her in a room for 4 days

Bernama reported the cause of the woman’s death is believed to be from being repeatedly punched by her nephew, who allegedly lost his patience due to her controlling behaviour.

However, interrogations revealed that he punched her multiple times until she fell down the stairs, and then confined her in a room in the house for 4 days.
