It’s likely every musician’s dream to attend one of the most prestigious music institution in the world. One of the best parts about it is being surrounded by so many like-minded musicians who share your passion.
Farandeep Singh reached out to WORLD OF BUZZ to share his story about his musical dreams becoming a reality after being admitted to Berklee College of Music.
He was accepted into the Berklee with a merit award
Farandeep shared that he’s been playing music since he was 7 years old, and it has always been his dream to attend Berklee.
Berklee College of Music is music institution located in Boston, Massachusetts. It’s considered the world’s largest independent college that specialises in contemporary music.
Farandeep went on to describe how the audition and interview process for the prestigious college involved assessing his musical abilities, artistic aspirations, and potential contributions to the Berklee community.
He also mentioned being accepted into the college with a scholarship, that was awarded for his exceptional talent.
He plays 8 instruments and can also sing!
Farandeep shared how he was inspired by many of his musical idols who attended Berklee themselves, including John Mayer, Charlie Puth, Lizzy McAlpine, Laufey, Mike Portnoy, Vinnie Colaiuta, Quincy Jones, and Steven Tyler.
He mentioned that he plays multiple instruments, such as tabla, dhol, djembe, drums, cajon, dholak, dholki, guitar, and also sings. He added that he also dances hip-hop.
Farandeep emphasised the importance of being true to oneself in order to create a unique artistic identity. He noted,
“It’s important for musicians to understand their impact on society. As entertainers, we should always convey a positive message and support social and environmental causes, so we can contribute to making the world a better place.”
He is set to join Berklee College of Music in the fall of 2024 (September 2024)!
