A 14-year-old girl was found after she had allegedly run away from home in order to pursue a relationship with a 47-year-old man whom she had met online. After almost 5 days of going missing from Kepong, Kuala Lumpur, the girl was found by police officers in Batu Pahat, Johor.

How this all started

According to a report by Sin Chew Daily, the 14-year-old girl had started meeting up with the 47-year-old man in real life after getting acquainted via an online game.

Her father, Mr. Huang, explained how his family discovered the girl’s relationship with the man, as he lives and works in Singapore while she lives with his family in Kepong.

“About 2 to 3 weeks ago, my sister’s friend saw my daughter getting into a white SUV in Kepong, and they took pictures as evidence and sent them to my sister. I immediately called my daughter to ask her about this,”

“My daughter casually said that the man in the car was her boyfriend, whom she had met in a game, and that she could not rush home at that time. So, I could only remind my sister and parents to pay more attention to this,” he said.

During another instance, the man came to their house to pick up the girl when he was confronted by Mr. Huang’s sister. She asked him if he knew that the girl was only 14 years old and asked to see his IC. Only then did they find out that he is 47 years old.

He argued with Mr. Huang’s sister that he and the girl were just friends and that he was willing to wait for her to grow up.

Mr. Huang tried to convince his daughter to let go of her relationship with the man, but she claimed that the man was very rich. He apparently promised to transfer the white SUV’s ownership to her as well as buy her a house.

Things then escalated

Mr. Huang returned from Singapore to further try and counsel his daughter after she was discovered to have marks on her neck.

“The situation became more and more outrageous. My daughter often came home after midnight. My family found kiss marks on her neck. My parents took her to a police station to report the case 2 weeks ago,” he shared.

Following the police report, the girl behaved normally, causing Mr. Huang and his family to believe she had a change of heart. Thinking that his daughter was feeling better, he returned to Singapore.

However, just days later, the girl claimed that she was going to school as usual, but ended up running away from home. When his family went to the school to pick her up after her classes, she was nowhere to be seen.

“My father later contacted my daughter’s teacher and learned that she had not come to school that day, and that she had run away from home.”

Feeling fearful for his daughter’s safety, he decided to pay the man’s house a visit. But, they discovered that the address stated on his IC was no longer valid.

“The day before yesterday, my mother and I went to the man’s address in Batu Pahat, Johor, based on the information on his MyKad, only to find that the house had been sold long ago,”

“The man’s former neighbour said that he owed a loan shark and had cheated a local woman of more than RM10,000 2 months ago,” Mr. Huang added.

Thankfully, the girl has since been found by the police.
