Between 50,000 and 100,000 Malaysians who work in Singapore will be vaccinated soon as the government will supply additional Covid-19 vaccines to Johor to ensure the borders between the two countries can be open either in May or June. As reported by The Straits Times, Johor Menteri Besar Hasni Mohammad said,

“The Federal Government will have to import more vaccines so that those who have to work in Singapore can get vaccinated earlier.”

Hasni Mohammad also mentioned that this move is vital to start Johor’s economic recovery. He also explained that they will start with about 50,000 to 100,000 doses first and it would actually be easy for Singapore to verify proof of their vaccinations through the certificate which will be shown on the MySejahtera app.

After these workers are done with their vaccinations, they will not be required to be quarantined. For these Malaysian workers who have jobs in Singapore, they will only need to show proof of their employment when the time comes for them to go for their vaccinations.
