The Veveonah issue has dragged on for over a week now and it seems like we are finally seeing the end of it… or maybe we’re just being hopeful.

The deputy minister who was the cause of chaos is Datuk Zahidi from the Ministry of Communications and Media.

He took to Dewan Negara today to officially apologise to Veveonah.

“I would like to apologise in Dewan Negara for causing confusion on the issue of adik Vivi Misbun (her real name is Veveonah Mosibin).”

“I would also like to apologise as the information from the wakil rakyat for the area has caused the dissatisfaction of some parties.”

“Maybe my opinions have been mistaken about the town of Pitas, there is internet connectivity and an internet centre, however, it needs to be improved.”

“As a conclusion, the things that were said by adik Vivi is the weaknesses present within the Sipatalang village.”

“Sipatalang needs the help of the government and as a father, I am of the opinion that sitting on top of a tree at night is dangerous. If that was our child, we would advise them to not do that as we’re scared that they would be injured.”

Adik Vivi’s fight to show what was lacking in the rural areas is a valiant effort. I take full responsibility and the government agrees that this issue is an issue of internet connectivity in the rural areas of Sabah and it should be overcome.”

“I hope that adik Vivi will be able to excel in everything she does in the future.”

What do you think of his apology? Let us know.
