The daughter of Deputy Prime Minister, Datuk Nurulhidayah has come forward to reveal the real cause behind her father, Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi’s bruised and swollen eyes that have caught the attention of the general public these past few days.

According to a report by Astro Awani, she shared that Ahmad Zahid, who is also UMNO President, is currently in the recovery process after undergoing eye surgery.

She added that her father had to undergo surgery due to optic nerve damage.

“Yes, his optic nerves were not working. That’s why his eyes (look like they are) drooping. Fixing his face for what? It’s not like he’s a ‘superstar’. If it’s causing damage to his optic nerves, then something needs to be done,”

“But it’s common for people to enjoy slandering rather than knowing the truth,” she said, in response to the rumour that he underwent plastic surgery.

Additionally, she informed that, as a politician who bears great responsibility in government administration, her father chose not to take a long leave after undergoing eye surgery.
