“You never emerged from those depths, so you never got to hear my answer, “Yes! Yes! A million times, yes, I will marry you!!”
A couple’s happily ever after took a tragic turn for the worst when a man known as, Steven Weber Jr., drowned while trying to pull off an elaborate underwater marriage proposal at a beach in Tanzania.
Yes! Yes! Yes!

Kenesha Antoine, the woman who was to wed Weber dedicated a tearful Facebook post to her late lover when he passed away last Friday.
“We never got to embrace and celebrate the beginning of the rest of our lives together, as the best day of our lives turned into the worst, in the cruelest twist of fate imaginable.”
The couple was reportedly staying at an exclusive submerged cabin that had windows looking out into the water. The video footage that Antoine captured of the proposal shows Weber diving underwater, wearing a snorkeling mask and fins as he swam to one of the bedroom windows.
According to the Star, Weber then proceeded to hold a note against the window that said:
“I can’t hold my breath long enough to tell you everything I love about you BUT… everything I love about you I love more EVERY DAY!”
On the other side of the note, it was written:
“Will you please be my wife. Marry me???”
When Antoine saw the note along with the small box that held an engagement ring, she joyfully exclaimed, “yes!”. Weber was then seen swimming up to the surface but sadly, he couldn’t make it back to her in time.
In her Facebook post, Antoine recalled Weber talking about how blessed they were to experience this vacation in the prime of their lives. To which she responded with:
“Yes, we were, my perfect love, my angel, my soul. Yes, we were, and I will carry the blessing of the love we shared with me forever. I will find you and marry you in the next lifetime, and the next, and the next, and the next… I love you so much, and I always will. ?”
In spite of this tragic loss, Antoine says Weber was full of laughs and loved spreading the joy he carried with him wherever he went:
“He’s s probably entertaining someone with a story about how he royally screwed up that proposal and died while being extra.”
What a heartbreaking tale. They were supposed to spend the rest of their lives together! RIP, Weber.
