Recently, news of 3 siblings drowning in Sungai Terengganu shock the nation. The siblings were only of age 21, 17, and 16.

Soon after, Twitter user @_akmalhafizah who was friends with one of the victims shared a chat receipt they had, which broke everybody’s hearts.

In her Tweet she wrote,

“Umar, I’m the one with suicidal thoughts but you’re the one who’s gone before me. You’re not trash Umar. You were great to me, and I’m so sorry. I didn’t think it was our last whatsapp message together.

“You gave me a hint, but I was stupid and did not even realise. If I knew, I would’ve replied.”

She accompanies her post with 2 screenshots.

In her screenshot, the message Umar sent eerily depicted that he was going to go away from her life.

In Malay beliefs, these are ‘hints’ someone who is about to pass on would give out.

Many poured into the comments to extend their condolences. Twitter users also encouraged her to not beat herself up for ‘not knowing that he gave the hint’ and that he loved her very much hence she needs to be strong.

“Although we’ve never met, losing someone dear to us in an instant is painful beyond all imagination. People can ask us to stay strong, but they cannot feel our pain. Whatever that happens, pray for him always. Hopefully you’re able to still come out strong,” one user wrote.

“This is heartbreaking. Please cherish everyone in your life and try your best to make them happy. Because we never know when’s the last time we’d ever see them. Be strong dear,” another wrote.

It’s heartbreaking to think what she and the family of the victims are going through. The parents lost 3 of their boys, and their funeral was just recently held.
