An elderly woman was injured in the neck after being stabbed by her own daughter in an incident at Kampung Segineh, Inas, Negeri Sembilan.

Kuala Pilah District Police Chief, Superintendent Muhamad Mustafah Hussin, said the police received a report from a member of the public informing them of a family dispute at around 7:08 PM.

According to him, investigations revealed that the suspect had stabbed her mother in the neck using a sharp object believed to be a can opener.

“The victim, a woman in her 80s, was taken to Rembau Hospital for further treatment. Her injuries were reported to be stable and she remains under hospital monitoring.”

“The suspect is a woman in her 50s and is the biological daughter of the victim. The motive of the incident is still under investigation, and it is possible the suspect has mental health issues,” he told reporters.

Muhamad Mustafah added that the suspect has been detained to assist in investigations, and the case is being investigated under Section 326 of the Penal Code for causing injury.
