Is this simply a case of gross negligence?

76-year-old Shakuntala Gaikwad, from Baramati, India tested positive for Covid-19  and resorted to home isolation due to the lack of hospital beds in her village hospital. However, her condition soon took a turn for the worst and her family decided to shift her to a nearby hospital.

On 10 May, the woman was taken to the hospital in a private vehicle as her family continued to attempt securing a hospital bed for her. As they were waiting in the car, the woman fell unconscious and stopped moving, reported India Today. The family assumed the woman had died and even informed their relatives about the last rites.

For illustration purposes only.

As her relatives mourned the loss of the woman and her family prepared for the cremation, Shakuntala’s body was placed on the bier. Imagine their astonishment when the woman suddenly opened her eyes and started crying! Her shocked family immediately rushed her to a hospital.
