During the festivities, it is normal for people to play with fireworks as long as it is within a reasonable time and at a suitable place.

However, this video that has surfaced on Facebook shows people playing with fireworks at an unsuitable time and place.

In the caption of the minute-long video, it is said that this took place at 5.30am on the Sungai Dua Highway in Penang.

The clip was taken from a car that had stopped at the side of the road and in the beginning, fireworks shot up in the air with smoke left behind.

Many cars and motorcycles were seen on the shoulders of both sides of the roads while people mingled in the middle part in groups. Fireworks boxes were also seen lying on the floor.

Netizens in the comments were disappointed and were saying that the authorities should take action against these people.

“After this when police or JPJ takes action, they’ll publish statements that make them victims of the authorities.”

“They cannot be cured any longer.”

Well, this doesn’t seem safe for the road users and the people who were hanging by the roadside. We hope that other people will not follow what these people did in the video.
