Truth be told, Malaysians do welcome videos of seeing elected officials going down to the ground and working for the people they represent – and this video witnesses just that.

Taking to TikTok, Nilai ADUN J. Arul Kumar, went to his constituency after a video of a motorcyclist experiencing a near-death incident after his motorcycle hit a pothole on a truck exit.

In the incident that happened near Batang Benar, Nilai, where Arul went to inspect the root cause of the problem, understanding that it was caused by heavy machinery moving in and out of a depot, causing the road to crack and create huge potholes.

Adding that the quick solution of putting concrete was also contributing to the problem, Arul took it upon himself to connect with the developers for a more sound solution to the problem.

“Before this they used concrete to cover the pothole. You want to know why they used concrete?”

He added, “They used it because they wanted to avoid the road from cracking because of the huge lorries that go in and out of this depot.”

“Concrete and a tar premix, do not mix. They must use a tar premix in the future,” he shared.

“I have asked the owner to take immediate action by clearing up all concrete remnants used in the area,” he added.

“They cannot do as they please. The roads that they used concrete on is under JKR’s purview. It is a good thing no one died. If they did, who would be responsible for those they left behind?”

Seriously, we need more reps like this! Especially those who are willing to roll up their sleeves and do the work.
