It’s natural for friends to throw a surprise party for a friend on their birthday. Planning a surprise party can be tricky, especially when you’re unsure of their schedule or if they’ve already made plans to celebrate.
In a recent video shared by @itsmepiya__, she took to TikTok to share a video of her and her friend preparing what was initially supposed to be a surprise birthday party for another friend.
“A bit sad and bland”
Piya captioned the video that reads,
“We celebrated just the 2 of us, feeling a bit sad and bland because we thought of surprising our friend. Can you repost it so that she can see?”
Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, Piya revealed how she and her friend had set up the surprise party at a lake garden in Taiping.
She shared how both she and her friend felt disappointed when their friend informed them at the very last minute that she wouldn’t be able to make it because her boyfriend was going to celebrate with her.
They couldn’t get a refund, so they had to make the most out a bad situation
Piya explained how she and her friend decided to continue with the surprise party without their friend as they couldn’t get a refund, and how they had already bought the cake and gifts.
“She actually informed last minute the night before going out that her boyfriend got a day off, and we were like okay, it’s fine, so we decided to just go out the two of us to celebrate because we had already paid for everything and couldn’t get a last-minute refund.”
She continued to share that despite their friend not being there, they still managed to make the most out of the situation by enjoying the cake and exchanging gifts with each other instead.
They had a little spat with the friend,
Piya mentioned how she and her friend ended up having an argument with the birthday girl but patched things up nicely in the end.
She added,
“Please appreciate your friends, and if your friend makes a mistake, please forgive them. Take all of this as a lesson, and please don’t make last-minute decisions. And to my friend, I want to say sorry, this issue has gone viral. Please forgive me.”
