With all the hype for Uncle Roger’s new restaurant in Pavilion Bukit Bintang, KL, the crowds and long queues are no surprise. A Hong Kong content creator, Lukian Wang, recently visited the outlet as her 1st destination as soon as she arrived in the country.

As a huge fan of fried rice herself, Lukian was disappointed. In her Instagram post @xoy, Lukian dubbed her time in “Fuiyoh! It’s Uncle Roger” the worst dining experience in Malaysia.

“The best plate of fried rice right now because…”

There was already a queue outside the restaurant 40 minutes before the place opened its doors, so Lukian was among the earliest customers of the day. Lukian was surprised to see half of the items on the menu were already sold out.

Regardless, she got herself a cup of hot beverage, which was served 21 minutes after she placed her order.

Lukian never knew she had to wait longer for her fried rice – nearly an hour.

“I was so bored that I decided to go live. So, if you see a long queue outside the restaurant, it’s not because of the popularity, but it’s a slow service.”

So, after 50 minutes of waiting, did Lukian like the food? Is the fried rice worth the 1-hour wait? As she told the customer seated next to her,

“This is probably the best-fried rice right now because I’m so hungry,” Lukian laughed.

Uncle Roger’s Fried Rice is the best in town after a 15-hour fast, as Lukian said in her Instagram post.

Lukian was honest about what she thought of the food and place – she won’t be coming back and hinted at the service of the restaurant workers.

“If you’re not a content creator invited by Uncle Roger and a small potato, they won’t give a sh*t.”

In a brief conversation with WORLD OF BUZZ, when asked about suggestions for improvements, Lukian had no comment.

“I’ll leave it up to them to decide how best to improve.”

The post also gained Uncle Roger’s attention, who responded in the comment sections.

To those who have visited the place, what do you think of the food and service? What was the best thing about your dining experience?
