Recently, Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin announced that children aged 5-11 will soon be able to get their Covid-19 vaccinations.
They would be given the Pfizer vaccine, COMIRNATY 10mg, which is not as strong as the normal one given to adults.
This didn’t go so well with parents, who have since called for Khairy to have his kids (and the children of other ministers) vaccinated first, in a live session for the country to see.
“Inject your children first. Make sure it’s shown live too.”
“Do a live session vaccination on KJ’s children and see what the effects are on them. If they are healthy, Insyallah.”
“Inject your children, your close relatives first and do it live. We, the Malaysian people, want to see.”
“Children of the government are not getting injected first? Why inject the people’s children first? Do a live session on TV and inject children of ministers.”
“Inject the children of ministers first, and do it live. The people want to see if these ministers will vaccine their children or not.”
Considering that the vaccines may be given to kids in schools, some parents are even willing to end their children’s education.
“I’m sorry. I do not allow for my children to be vaccinated. If this causes my kids to not be allowed into their schools to study, I accept that.”
“If my children are forced to be vaccinated, I am willing to not send my children to school.”
Many of these parents believe that their children’s immune system is more than enough to battle the risk of Covid-19 infections.
“Children’s immune systems are strong. So there is no need (for vaccinations).”
