After Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, another former Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, also agreed that PMX should step down immediately.

According to Muhyiddin, if no firm and courageous steps are taken, the country will experience economic decline as has happened in several third-world countries, and the people will continue to be trapped in poverty.

“Since the beginning of the administration, their actions have not shown concern for the people after the Covid-19 pandemic.”

Muhyiddin stressed that the people had allowed the Madani government to govern the country, but the policies introduced, unfortunately, only added to the people’s burdens. He added that Perikatan Nasional (PN) has raised the issue of poverty, unemployment, and the people’s income several times in Parliament, but all of this has been ignored by the Prime Minister and his cabinet.

He also criticised the government’s actions in raising oil prices and expanding the Sales and Services Tax (SST) to 6,000 categories of goods to increase the country’s revenue by RM10 billion, which he described as a move that oppresses the people.

“Anwar once promised to lower fuel prices within 24 hours of becoming Prime Minister, but not only was it not fulfilled, but subsidies were cut and prices soared.”

“Many Malays in the B40 group have now fallen into the B60 category after the pandemic. In three years, the national debt has increased by more than RM250 billion without a solid solution.”

During an event in Alor Setar, Kedah, last night (July 17), which was live-streamed, Muhyiddin stressed that PN is ready to offer a comprehensive manifesto if there is an election, including economic solutions, job opportunities, and increased income for the people.

“We will abolish all the policies of the Madani Government. We have proven our ability when leading the country during the Covid-19 pandemic.”

Do you think Muhyiddin and the Perikatan Nasional should make a comeback?
