Water disruptions in the Klang Valley isn’t such a rare occurrence, but it’s definitely a nuisance when it happens! Especially with the hot weather nowadays!

By now, you’d probably have heard of the 1,500mm main water pipe bursting behind Section 21, Shah Alam this afternoon. Oh, no!

According to Air Selangor’s Facebook post, the pipe is actually a pumping line located behind the JVC factory and it carries treated water to the Hicom pond, which will in turn, channel water to the areas of Klang, Shah Alam and Subang.

But you probably don’t know much details about what’s going on with the water disruptions right? And now you’re worried that you will be affected, so you’re not exactly sure what to do. Cannot bathe and drink water, how lah? Let us update you!

1. Start storing your water NOW because Syabas will be turning off the water supply by 9pm tonight to begin remedial works. 

2. Store enough water for more than 48 hours because Syabas estimates that the repairs will take around 48 hours and water supply will only be restored within 72 hours. That’s like three days, people!

3. If needed, water tanks will be deployed to any critical areas.

4. A grand total of 38 locations in Shah Alam, Subang Jaya and Klang will be affected.
