Saying goodbye is never easy, especially to your loved ones, including men’s best friend – the furry friend. A Malaysian man recently bode farewell to a dog who had spent years with him in his hometown.
In a viral TikTok post @nakgemoksikit, the man said he had been caring for the dog since it was a puppy which he named it Gendut. The furry friend would never miss welcoming the man back every time during his homecoming.
Unfortunately, that came to an end as the man had to move.
The dog was not merely a companion but also the watchful protector of his farm in his hometown. At times, he spent time with Gendut by playing with it, especially running, which is Gendut’s favourite activity.
After bidding farewell, Gendut “escorted” the man by leading the way in front of the man’s car as he left the place filled with memories.
In case you’re wondering, Gendut is NOT left alone.
In another post, the man also revealed that Gendut is not left without a new home or owner. The dog is being taken care of by the uncle, who was his neighbour.
“Don’t worry. We’re not that cruel to leave it alone, and this is the proof.”
The man also explained that he didn’t bring Gendut along to his new destination because it is not permissible for Muslims to rear dogs without a valid reason. Back in his hometown, the man was a farmer, and Gendut was there as both a companion and a guardian of the farm.
“We don’t handle the farm anymore now that we’re living in the town. Thank you for your kind wishes for Gendut.”
@nakgemoksikit Maaf, Gendut. Kami terpaksa pindah. Jaga diri, terima kasih jaga kebun dan rumah selama ni. Nanti cari bini yang cantik cantik okay 🥺 Kau memang anjing tapi ada manusia yang lebih anjing dari kau Dut. Maaf. #anjing #perpisahan #sedihbanget
