Circumcision is a stepping stone for Muslim boys before entering adulthood.

Though the process no longer involves a straight-blade razor, a dip in a cold river and sitting atop a banana truck before the ultimate cut, videos of kids refusing to take part, trying to run away or even fainting their way in hopes of not enduring the process have made its way onto social media.

Here is one of those examples, happening during the Program Berkhatan Perdana.

Using the school holidays as the best time for young boys to perform circumcision, this little guy simply could not bear the thought of the minor surgery and had to be carried in by his family members and staff to the medical table.

With the caption, “POV: When you refuse to be circumcised.”, more videos like it have made their way onto social media.

Taking to the comments section, a netizen shared how she handled the situation with her kid when it was their time.

“My kid was the one who got excited, but we did it at a private clinic. He cried during the anaesthetics, but stopped throughout the whole process.”

“Our kid did his when he was 6,” said the user.

Though it may be a daunting experience, those who have gone through it should be able to help ease the process for our young boys.
