Rare footage from the Jerantut League in Pahang has made its way onto social media for all the wrong reasons, as a fan was caught elbowing a player in the cheek.
At the semi-final match between MDJ FC (which the victim represents) and Rang Hill, the player can be seen greeting the fans after scoring a goal. Mauled by the fans, one decided to get up and become physical and elbowed the player.
This started a soft riot but was later dispersed by match officials and more sane fans.
Netizens were unimpressed and made jokes about what could have prompted him to do it.
“Our guess is he may be frustrated for not getting a chance at the Zionists.”
“Why don’t you take your elbow and help the Palestinians defeat Zionists,” commented another.
