Though apparent ‘brutality’ of enforcement officers is well documented in the video, which includes a failed flying kick by one of the officers, the accompanying status to the video explains how things escalated from a routine roadblock to physical confrontation.

“Officers on duty were carrying out a blockade at KM 23 Jalan Lahad Datu – Sandakan at 10.30 am. During the blockade, a motorcycle rider made a u-turn with the intention of running away from the roadblock and behaved aggressively in an attempt to run away.”

“Attempting to stop the motorcyclist, 2 officers tried, to the best of their abilities to catch the run away suspect.”

After some failed attempts at some form of Kung Fu, both officers managed to catch the runaway and was brought in for further investigation.

With certain parties questioning as to why officers had to succumb to physical confrontation, JPJ took note and released a statement mentioning that officers should have conducted themselves in a different manner.
