A furious argument broke out at a Urban Transformation Center (UTC) in Section 14, Shah Alam, after a man and immigration staff butted heads over the treatment he received while making passports.
The incident which took place at about 8:30pm on August 10 (Wednesday) went viral online through a TikTok video, which showcased the man being chased out by the staff member. The man has since made a police report on the matter.
Based on a report by Kosmo, the police report shared that the man had arrived at a UTC in Kuala Selangor at about 3pm with his children. He was then informed that their system was not working so the man then brought his children to the UTC in Section 14 at around 4:30pm.

“However, the man was once again informed that the queue number system had run out with only 200 numbers issued per day at the UTC Immigration counter.”
The man asked the staff member on duty to post an official notice but no action was taken.
Additionally, at about 6:30pm, the man’s two sons were given queue numbers, 1201 and 1202. When one of his children (1201) was completed and it was time for the other son’s number to be called, the officer then informed them that the National Registration Department’s (JPN’s) system was not working and they would be called again at 8pm.

After half an hour passed, it was found that the boy’s queue number was not called, even though the latest number displayed at the time had become 1211.
Because of that, the man then went to the counter to meet one of the male supervisors at the Immigration Department to get an explanation. However, it is disputed with why he didn’t just go to the counter.
The man, feeling like he had been played a fool with, lost control of his anger and kicked a metal pole.

“Suddenly, a female Immigration officer, who was behind a counter, started shouting, banging on the table, cursing and warned the man that he and his family will not be allowed to have any dealings at the UTC Immigration center in the future,” the report explained.
Following the incident, Director General of Immigration, Datuk Seri Khairul Dzaimee Daud shared that the officer in question has been transferred to another department.
“Preliminary investigations found that there were elements of provocation from the public, however, the actions taken by the Immigration officer involved were contrary to the department’s slogan of integrity, professionalism, friendliness,” he said.
