The video of a passenger recording how huge waves rocked his ferry as it made its way to Pulau Redang shows how the boat nearly capsized after it was hit by rough seas during the monsoon season.

The video, which garnered more than 50k views on Facebook page Kuala Terengganu Post, witnessed the horrors faced by locals braving the journey across the South China sea.

Here is the video of the journey.

In the 1 minute video, passengers were in a state of panic as the boat braved huge waves and many were shrieking in fear of what may come.

With the shouts of the captain in the background asking his passengers to sit still, anyone viewing the video can only imagine what they had to go through.

Netizens commenting on the video said that despite the island being closed down for the monsoon season, locals still depend on it as their primary form of transportation to the mainland.

“It is a good thing that this is a ferry. Small boats are all grounded because of the rough seas. There is a village on Redang Island, and locals have to depend on the ferry service.”

We can only imagine the hardship that the villagers living on Redang Island have to go through.

We sincerely hope that people using the ferry service from Redang Island to the mainland remain safe and sound during the monsoon season.
