Most of the time, practicing kindness doesn’t cost anything but a little time and effort.

A Paralympian in Sabah proved this by getting off his wheelchair, crawling down a steep slope down to a drain to save a kitten who was stuck from potentially drowning.

The superhuman act was caught on camera by his friend, who is also disabled and was unable to help as the slope was too steep for him. Abu Fathiyyaturahma Menk AbdunMujtahid took to his Facebook page to share the incident.

Abu wrote,

“This morning, on our way to the Kota Kinabalu Sports Complex, we saw a kitten that had fallen into a big drain and it was clinging to the wall. The kitten was soaking wet, I’m not entirely sure how long it’s been there so I tried to help get it up. Alhamdulillah, we managed to help him up.

PS. My friend who’s taking the video is also disabled, he’s using prosthetic legs and was not able to go down the slope hence is why I decided to go down to save the kitten.”

Netizens have since taken to the comments section to praise Abu’s efforts to save the helpless little kitten.

This comment reads, “Alhamdulillah, may you be blessed with sustenance. Amen.”

Abu’s honourable actions clearly demonstrates the fact that anyone can show kindness and make the effort to assist a helpless little kitten, or just people in need in general.

His posting has since garnered over 298 shares.

Thank you, Abu, for today’s lesson on kindness.
