Never judge a book by its cover. You never know if you’re picking a fight with the wrong person.

The physical brawl at a convenience store in Penang went viral, and many were impressed by the store owner’s strength and swift movements when he landed multiple punches at the other man. Little did we know that the store owner has a black belt in taekwondo and even Federation (ITF) championship back in 1996.

He also had the chance to spread his knowledge about the art of self-defense to others.

“I vaguely remember that in 1998, a  coach happened to be busy and could not teach. Knowing that I was good at  , he asked me to take over and teach his students.”

That year alone, he took over the role of a coach for 4 times, and he was even offered to be a full-time coach but had to decline as he wanted to focus on the family’s business.

In an interview with China Press, the owner also revealed that the customer who picked a fight with him was not a regular customer as he had only been to the shop twice.

“In an unfriendly manner, the customer told me to get him a can of beer, and even challenged me to a duel.”

The owner then decided to lodge a police report and as of yesterday, the duo have been arrested by the police.

He also assured the public that it was not a racial matter and had nothing to do with alcoholism, but it was merely a personality issue.

Regardless, getting engaged in a fight and exchanging fists of fury is never a good way to solve anything.
