Van Driver Who Fatally Hit & Dragged Woman Over 10 Metres Suspended, Victim’s Family Can’t Forgive Him

A grieving Malaysian father demands an explanation from a local transportation company after his daughter lost her life in an accident involving a van.

In the fatal accident that happened on Sunday (14 September) along Jalan Kuchai Lama, Kuala Lumpur, the 26-year-old victim was hit and dragged for 10 metres. The driver claimed that he was unaware that he had hit someone, as he did not see anything in the rear mirror.

The victim’s parents and boyfriend made it clear that they cannot forgive the driver

The father of the victim, in the meantime, wanted an explanation from the company, saying that when he was at the scene, the driver did not say anything and looked dazed.

He said that after the driver hit his daughter, the loud noise attracted the attention of a large number of people. They shouted at the driver to stop, but the driver did not stop and continued to move forward, dragging his daughter’s body, according to China Press.

The parents also said that they refuse to accept the driver’s apology and will not allow him to visit her funeral.

Rapid KL took action against the driver

In a brief official statement, the company confirmed the accident and said that the driver involved has been suspended from duties while investigations by the authorities are ongoing. The company also said that it will give full cooperation with the police to aid with the investigation.

The 26-year-old female victim was out for dinner with her family when the incident happened. Unexpectedly, she was hit by a van while crossing the road and was dragged for more than 10 metres.
