The Exchange TRX Mall Outdoor Playground has recently become a popular spot for families since opening its doors to the public. With its inviting atmosphere, parents have flocked to the area, bringing along their children to enjoy the newly accessible outdoor space.
With videos and images circulating of children playing in the water fountain section of the playground, this sparked confusion among netizens regarding whether such water play was permitted in this area. In a recent tweet by @sueannajoe_, she shared her initiative to seek clarification from TRX about the situation.
TRX promptly responded to her, stating that the water play at the fountain is entirely intentional. They consider it a part of their sensory water play area, specifically designed to accommodate such activities. The response from TRX read:
“Hi Sue Anna, yes they are. It is part of our sensory water play area.”
However, to avoid any misconceptions, TRX also clarified that while they endorse water play in the vicinity, they do not encourage direct play in or on the spiral structure.
“The interactive elements are the apparatus that run along it. We are working through making clearer what is and isn’t allowed at the park.”
In addition to this clarification, she provided an update on another area of the playground, specifically the waterfall and pool-like section near the rock cave. TRX clarified that, at present, these areas are designated for play, though they emphasized the need for extra supervision, particularly around the steps.

Now that the dos and don’ts have been clarified, it’s an ideal time to visit the TRX playground, especially with the school holidays approaching.
