If you often visit Empire Shopping Gallery in Subang Jaya, chances are you MIGHT have stumbled upon this abandoned Proton Savvy in the parking lot. We’re not sure how long the car has been ditched there, but according to a post by Malaysia Shopping Mall, the car has been there for about 9 years now!

In one of the pictures shared on their Facebook page, the blurry road tax on the windshield shows an expiration date of 16 December 2014.

Empire Shopping Gallery opened its doors in 2010, which means the car was allegedly parked there 4 years later and has probably never left the building since. The Facebook post dubbed the abandoned car “the Mystery of the Abandoned Savvy”

“Too ‘clean’ to be abandoned for years”

The dusty condition of the vehicle does show that it has been abandoned for some time, but netizens doubt that the car has been there for more than a decade. Some think that the car is “too clean” to be abandoned for almost 12 years.

A netizen pointed out that the tyres seem to be filled with air and there aren’t flat, while another wondered why the management of the mall did not move the car away.

In the meantime, a netizen speculated that the owner of the vehicle might be dead and that no one would abandon a car for a long time.

A netizen also said that the car appears to be too “clean” for a vehicle that has been abandoned.

Another netizen related the abandoned car to the missing MH370 flight, which happened in the same year.

Abandoned cars in malls or even residential area often comes with speculations about the reasons for its abandonment, or even the whereabouts of the owner. In this case, what do you think of the Proton Savvy? Do you think it has been there since 2014, or do you think the person ditched the car only a few years back?
