The iconic Transformers toy has gotten an upgrade from Hasbro and we are sure Transformers fanboys are jumping with joy upon hearing that you can actually buy (unfortunately, sold out for now) an Optimus Prime figurine that is programmable and can actually transform on its own. Woah!

The Optimus Prime Auto-Converting Programmable Advanced Robot which cost USD 700 or approximately RM3,000 can transform from vehicle mode to robot mode and back to vehicle mode thanks to, as reported by Polygon, a partnership between Hasbro and Robosen Robotics (Shenzhen) Co. Ltd, a company specialising in programmable robots.

The 19-inch is made out of roughly 5,000 components, 27 patented servo motors, and 60 connected microchips in order to achieve the ability to transform.  Furthermore, the unit can also be controlled via a mobile app or voice commands, which allows owners to even scream the iconic phrases like “transform” and “roll out” to trigger the transformation. Next level weh!

As shared on its official site, pre-order is now closed and delivery of these units will begin in October should everything go as planned. However, surely more units will be produced but unfortunately for now, the current scarcity of the product will attract scalpers who will definitely mark up the price tenfold.
